"Scream 2" was also called Scream Again, Scream Louder, and Scream: The Sequel during production.

Scream 2 makes fun of the first Scream when Gale Weathers writes a book based on the Woodsboro murders and turns it into a movie called Stab. "We have fun of the idea that she didn't quite get it right," says screenwriter Kevin Williamson.

The phrase "sequels suck" is heard throughout the film, dishing out all the self-parody of horror sequels. "So, of course, the big discussions in [Randy's drama] class are whether sequels are bulls--t or not," says Wes Craven.

There is a scene in the trailer where Mickey says, "They were stabbed 7 times...." and Hallie says, "OUCH!" The scene is not in the film, only in the full trailer.

The scene that was cut out of the original was used in the sequel. Cici drops a picture frame on Ghostface's head while she is running up the stairs. This scene was originally written for the first film, but removed later.

In both films, "Scream" and "Scream 2", the movie opens with a couple getting ready to watch a movie. In each film, the couple is killed. First the male....then the female.

One of Cici's friends imitates the theme from Friday the 13th on the phone to freak her out.

If you listen carefully, it is relatively easy to figure out who the killer is. After Derek is cut on his arm, Mickey says to Sydney, "Why would anybody go back into the house." There is no way Mickey could have known that because he wasn't there.

The police chief is played by David Arquette's father, Lewis Arquette. The elder Lewis was cast as an officer in the first film but turned the role down.

When Randy points out the suspects to Dewey, he mentions Mrs. Vorhees from Friday the 13th, and Candyman.

At the beginning of Scream 2 before Phil gets killed the killer in the next bathroom is saying: "Billy tell mommy what you did." This is taken from Friday The 13th.

In the middle when Sidney and Hally are on their way to a 'safe' place, the killer breaks the window glass with a little hit from his elbow. Then when the girls are trying to get out of the car they are pounding on the windows with their feet and all their might, but the glass won't break.

Regarding nude shots of herself on the Internet, Gale Weathers says, "It was just my head on Jennifer Aniston's body." Aniston is Courteney Cox's co-star in the sitcom Friends.

When asked what his favorite scary movie is, Randy proclaims Showgirls was his favorite scary movie since it was "absolutely frightening". Hmmm....

Randy mentions Final Exam , Graduation Day and Splatter University, The House on Sorority Row and The House That Dripped Blood while talking with the killer on the phone. Those are all real movies, not made up.

Once again, the famous shoe tease is used in the sequel as well as the first film. After Randy is killed it shows the killers shoes. The next scene Cotton Weary is acting aggressive towards Sidney and the camera flashes down to his shoes. They are similar to the killers.

Dunkin' Donuts is mentioned again. Joel says he is going to get himself some Dunkin' Donuts. In the first film, there is bag on Dewey's desk

In a rowdy film-class debate, Randy debates sequels and whether they are as good as the original. Mickey argues that Aliens and Godfather 2 are classics.

Wes Craven (wearing glasses) plays a doctor in the background while Detective Andrews is talking at the hospital.

David Schimmer played Dewey Riley in "Stab". While "the guy who drove the stagecoach for one episode of 'Dr. Quinn'" played Randy Meeks.

Luke Wilson was the actor who portrayed Billy Loomis in Stab. He is dating Drew Barrymore who played Casey Becker in Scream.

At the end, Sid says "you're fucking psychotic" to Mickey. She says it the same way as Winona Ryder says the same line to Christian Slater in Heathers.

When Dewey went behind Gale in the soundproof room, he stood in a box of donuts. Joel was eating with them a while before, does that mean he could be the third killer?
